The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whittaker wants to clinch up but Edinhio keeps it at a distance.
No joy there for Whittaker , who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Edinhio has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Whittaker .

Edinhio closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Edinhio lands in his opponent's guard.

Edinhio drops back looking for a leg! Whittaker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Whittaker manages to kick Edinhio off! Edinhio jumps back into Whittaker 's guard.

Edinhio is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Whittaker has managed to free his arm - good work.

Whittaker tries to roll over but Edinhio keeps him under control.
Edinhio takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Edinhio frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Whittaker tries to hold on but Edinhio pushes him away.

Edinhio has control of Whittaker 's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Whittaker regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Edinhio has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Whittaker is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Whittaker wants to hold on but Edinhio pushes him away.

Edinhio has hold of Whittaker 's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Whittaker manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Edinhio is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Whittaker to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Whittaker shrugs it off.

Edinhio throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Whittaker has his hands clasped together but Edinhio breaks the hold and Whittaker is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Edinhio!
