The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz fails to land the takedown.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

A head kick from Garafallo lands but Cruz takes it in his stride.
Garafallo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cruz.

Cruz shoots in for a takedown but Garafallo shows good takedown defense.
Garafallo tries to counter with a takedown but Cruz is quick to defend against it.
Cruz shoots in looking for a takedown. Garafallo tries to sprawl out of it but Cruz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Garafallo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Cruz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Garafallo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Cruz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Garafallo swivels and escapes.
Garafallo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Garafallo leaves Cruz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Garafallo is looking to clinch.

Garafallo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cruz was covering up waiting for the punch and Garafallo finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Cruz looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Cruz wants to sweep here but Garafallo controlling him for the moment.

Garafallo avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Cruz lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Cruz advances to half guard.

Cruz is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Garafallo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cruz.

Cruz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Garafallo defends it well.

Cruz goes for an armbar but Garafallo turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Garafallo.

Cruz has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Garafallo should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Cruz has tightened it up now! Garafallo should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
