With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Taichi Kitano!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kitano lands a right hook to the body.
Kitano throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kitano keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Khan.
Khan looks to land a right hand but Kitano moved out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Kitano misses the target.
Khan falls off balance throwing a combination

and Kitano counters by clinching up.
Kitano makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Khan prevents a body shot from Kitano.

Khan breaks from the clinch.
Khan looks to land a right hand but Kitano moved out of range.
Khan has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Khan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Khan throws a combination that misses
and Kitano counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Khan takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kitano ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Khan smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Khan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kitano.

and Kitano counters with a left to the body.
Khan scores with a jab to the head.

A nice side step and Kitano releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Kitano throws an overhand right that lands on Khan's shoulder, as Khan tries to avoid the shot.
Kitano swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kitano fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Khan on the side of the head.
Kitano digs a good body shot into Khan's ribs.
Kitano swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Khan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kitano throws out the jab.
Khan throws a right hand that Kitano ducks under and follows up with a left that Kitano also avoids with ease.

Raja Khan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kitano takes a swing at Khan's ribcage but misses.
Kitano throws a hook but Khan blocks it.
Khan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kitano.
Khan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kitano.

Kitano steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Khan.
Kitano swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Khan misses with an uppercut. Kitano saw that one coming.
A telegraphed right hand from Kitano misses the target.
Khan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kitano moves away.

Kitano bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Khan's head.
Khan swings for the body but Kitano moves out of range.
Kitano throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Khan misses with a looping right.
Kitano moves out of range as Khan strikes.
A little jabbing left from Kitano on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Kitano connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Khan! He's out on his feet! Kitano rushes in and drops Khan with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Taichi Kitano! Taichi Kitano retains his middleweight title!
Taichi Kitano decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
