Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Blood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulie Pennino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ryan Blood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paulie Pennino!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pennino throws a push kick but Blood slaps the foot to one side.

Pennino is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Blood's half guard.
Blood is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pennino scores with a couple of nice shots.
Pennino working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Blood's thigh. Blood counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Pennino postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pennino makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pennino pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Blood is keeping the position for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Pennino takes a jab right on the kisser.

Pennino misses with an uppercut. Blood saw that one coming.

Pennino scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Pennino winds up and cracks Blood with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Pennino looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Pennino has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Blood moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Pennino's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pennino wants to control from the top but Blood keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paulie Pennino dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Pennino closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Blood's guard.

Pennino stands up over Blood, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Pennino looks up at the clock and then as Blood takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Pennino smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Blood can't do much from the bottom here.

Pennino creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Blood is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Blood is not content to let Pennino control the position.
Pennino works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Blood tries to improve position but can't.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Pennino cracks Blood with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Pennino immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Blood is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Pennino!
