PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eldon Pacheco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Farde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Farde will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eldon Pacheco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Paul Farde!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Daniel Blasius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pacheco displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Farde.
Pacheco seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Farde.

Farde closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Pacheco's guard.
Pacheco lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Farde manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Pacheco is trying to drag Farde to the mat but Farde just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Pacheco postures up in Farde's guard and throws a big left but Farde blocks it.

Farde escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pacheco gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pacheco is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Pacheco has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Pacheco gets to his feet. Farde looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Pacheco moves into the clinch successfully.
Farde blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Farde tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Pacheco's elbow.

Farde escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Farde shoots for a double leg takedown but Pacheco sprawls well. He's pushed Farde's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pacheco throws a strike but Farde rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Pacheco throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Pacheco is working an open guard so Farde takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Pacheco creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Farde has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Pacheco is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Pacheco is fighting off a takedown attempt but Farde is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Pacheco to the mat. Pacheco regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Pacheco jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Farde walks away with a smile on his face. Pacheco gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Farde takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Farde lands a head kick. Pacheco smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Farde shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Pacheco manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Farde tries to keep at a distance but Pacheco has taken the fight into the clinch.
Farde jumps guard but Pacheco stands there with Farde around his waist. Farde gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Pacheco just misses with a elbow thrown towards Farde's brow.
