Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joey Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Random (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vera comes to the cage accompanied by Weightless by All Time Low. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Dave Random enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Random is looking to clinch but Vera is avoiding it.

Random drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Random wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vera, who protects the arm well.
You can see the frustration on Vera's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Random stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Vera wants to clinch

and Random counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Vera prevents the takedown attempt.

Vera manages to break the clinch.
Random throws a big shot that misses.

Vera shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Vera was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Random turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Vera is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Random off and has taken his back!
Random breaks Vera's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Random is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Vera is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Vera has escaped and now he's on top!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Vera is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Random goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Vera has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Random but great work by Vera.

Vera decides to stand back up. Vera steps back and let's Random get back to his feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee warns Vera that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Dave Random showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Random has his foot on Vera's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vera works his way back into a safe position though.

Random escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vera gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Random is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Random drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Vera manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Random has Vera in his guard.

Random has his foot on Vera's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vera works his way back into a safe position though.
