The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lijikiszcz closes the distance and clinches.
Lijikiszcz has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Belval is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Lijikiszcz keeps control of Belval as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Lijikiszcz goes for a takedown attempt but Belval pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Belval looks to throw the jab but Lijikiszcz is out of range.

Lijikiszcz shoots for a double leg takedown but Belval sprawls well. He's pushed Lijikiszcz's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lijikiszcz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Belval.
Belval's coach down at Bi-Polar Asylum LV's #1 Public Training Center was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Belval's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Belval can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Lijikiszcz controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Belval lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Lijikiszcz shoots in for a takedown but Belval shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kanishka Lijikiszcz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Belval really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lijikiszcz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lijikiszcz drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Lijikiszcz seems to have locked his on tight now - Belval screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Lijikiszcz, as he picks up the win!
