Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Creon Koskos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ronald Schultz!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koskos misses with a straight left.
Schultz tries to counter with a clinch but Koskos shakes him off and moves away.
Koskos misses with a shot to the body
and Schultz counters with a slapping leg kick.
Koskos misses with a looping right.

Schultz looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Koskos trying to control from the bottom.
Koskos tries to roll over but Schultz keeps him under control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Koskos manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Schultz trying to control but Koskos is working from the bottom.
Koskos is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Koskos swings for the body but Schultz moves out of range.

Schultz scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Koskos sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Koskos is trying to get back to full guard.
Schultz wants to free his trapped foot but Koskos is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Koskos is trying to maintain the position but Schultz is very close to passing his half guard.

Koskos looking for submissions off his back.
Schultz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Koskos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Koskos is trying is best to control the position here.
Koskos manages to get to full guard.
Schultz postures up.

Koskos is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Schultz not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Koskos is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Koskos works his way into side control.
Koskos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Schultz keeps working.

Schultz is looking to reverse the position.

Koskos tries for a kimura but Schultz is defending well.
Schultz looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schultz tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Koskos wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Koskos is looking to take a break and control but Schultz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Koskos is really struggling to control Schultz but he's trying to hold on to the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Creon Koskos will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Schultz tries to move into range but Koskos moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Koskos throws out a loose jab but Schultz uses good head movement to avoid it.

Schultz closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Koskos did well to prevent Schultz getting side control.
Koskos moves into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Koskos is trying to control the position but Schultz postures up.
Schultz preventing the sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Koskos not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Schultz looking to pass the guard.

Koskos is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Koskos is on top in guard.

Koskos working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Koskos looking to sit in guard and control but Schultz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Koskos has his foot on Schultz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Schultz works his way back into a safe position though.
Koskos not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Koskos tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Schultz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Koskos works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Koskos is on top in guard.

Schultz keeping moving, preventing Koskos from controlling successfully.

Koskos postures up in Schultz's guard and throws a big left but Schultz blocks it.
Koskos trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Koskos wants to control from the top but Schultz keeps moving.
Schultz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Koskos trying to control but Schultz is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Schultz shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Schultz was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Schultz is breathing heavily.
Koskos gets back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Koskos wants to control but Schultz is keeping busy.

Schultz gets to his feet but Koskos grabs hold of a leg and swivels beautifully into a kneebar. Schultz falls to the floor but he can't defend the quick submission attempt and has to tap quickly to save his knee ligaments! Very nice work from Koskos!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Creon Koskos!
Our winner, Creon Koskos, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
