Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Leandro Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yamato Take (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yamato Take!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Take lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Jones drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Jones thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Take tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Take is still trying to improve position.
Jones fails to land a wild elbow strike.
You can see the frustration on Take's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Jones tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jones has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Take is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Take sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Jones stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Take swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Take has control of Jones's left arm, preventing Jones from doing any damage.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Take tries to score with a low kick but Jones moves his leg out of the way.

Take darts in and clinches Jones up against the cage.
Take lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Jones.

Jones drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Take throws a punch but it's blocked by Jones.

Jones misses with a takedown attempt - Take sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Take is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Take circles away and we're back to standing.

Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Take's waist but Take gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.

Take thows a body kick. Jones tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Take jabs Jones right on the nose. Jones blinks but takes it well.

Jones wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Take feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Jones's calf.
Jones shoots in but Take avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Yamato Take is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Take cracks Jones with an open hand slap.
Take catches Jones with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
A punch lands to the side of Jones 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Jones forces Take back against the cage and clinches.
Take misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Take misses with some punches.
Jones tries to score a body lock takedown but Take shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Take swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Jones manages to pull guard.
Take's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Jones is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Take slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Jones looking for a guillotine here but Take defends easily.

Take controlling from the top position.
Jones striking off his back but it's not causing Take any problems.
Take works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Jones trying to control from the bottom.
Take sitting and controlling from the half guard.

Jones is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Take pulls his head out easily.

Jones is looking for a sweep. Take is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Take is taking a breather. Jones says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jones actively working from the bottom here.
Take controlling the action here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Take has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Jones is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Jones checks a low kick from Take.
Jones was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Jones chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Take can pounce on him.
Good leg kick by Take there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Take keeps Jones at a distance using the push kick.
Take thows a left - swing and a miss!
Nice takedown defense from Take. No joy for Jones on that attempt.
Take lands a nice shot to the body.
Jones stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Take.
Jones shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Take but Take pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Take is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Take circles away and we're back to standing.
Take flicks out a counter leg kick but Jones steps away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yamato Take showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Jones shoots in looking for a takedown but Take manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jones's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
It seemed like Take was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Take is looking to land body kicks.
Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Take swivels and escapes.
Take looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Take fakes the leg kick and cracks Jones in the body.
Take throws a leg kick which misses Jones's front leg but catches the back leg as Jones tries to avoid it.
Take fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jones has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Take lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Take waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Jones.

Jones wants to take the fight to the mat but Take manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Yamato Take seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Take pulls Jones in close to his closed guard and prevents Jones from doing any damage or advancing position.

Jones stands and throws Take's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Take controls the position for a moment.

Jones goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Take rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Jones's guard! Nice work there by Take!
Take slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Yamato Take is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
