Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mike Parrish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Art Vandelay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Mike Parrish has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Mike Parrish seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vandelay moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

It looks like Mike Parrish has been cut.
Vandelay stuffs the takedown.
Vandelay tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Parrish was well out of range. Poor timing from Vandelay.

Parrish looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Vandelay!
Parrish moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vandelay wants to control but Parrish postures up.
Vandelay avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Parrish.

Parrish is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vandelay knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vandelay is trying to maintain the position but Parrish is very close to passing his half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Parrish with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Vandelay misses with a looping right.
Vandelay misses the shot to the body.

Vandelay looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Vandelay comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Vandelay throws a lazy right hand but Parrish sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Vandelay missing with a left hand there. Parrish was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Vandelay digs a good body shot into Parrish's ribs.
Parrish wants to clinch.

Parrish looks for a takedown but Vandelay sprawls well.

Parrish shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vandelay as he jumps to the side.
A looping hook to the body misses from Vandelay. Parrish does a little dance to reset his feet.
Vandelay cracks Parrish with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Vandelay lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Parrish takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Vandelay connects with a body shot that sends Parrish's belly button to the back.
Parrish ducks right into an uppercut from Vandelay.

Vandelay throws a body punch but Parrish moves out of range.
Art Vandelay is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Vandelay tests Parrish's chin there with a solid looking shot.
The fighters circling - Vandelay throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Parrish wants to clinch
and Vandelay counters with a straight right hand.

Parrish is rocked!

Parrish tries to keep at a distance but Vandelay has taken the fight into the clinch.
Oh Parrish is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Vandelay breaks from the clinch.
Parrish seems to have got his legs back now.
Parrish takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Vandelay throws a series of punches but Parrish avoids them all with ease.
Parrish showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Vandelay.
Parrish shoots in looking for a takedown. Vandelay tries to sprawl out of it but Parrish keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Vandelay manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Parrish shoots in but Vandelay avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Parrish connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Vandelay momentarily.
Vandelay jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Vandelay throws an overhand right that lands on Parrish's shoulder, as Parrish tries to avoid the shot.
Parrish tries a head kick but it misses.
Parrish keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Vandelay scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Oooooh!!! Vandelay has knocked Parrish down with a huge combo! Vandelay steps away and waves a wobbly Parrish back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Vandelay throws out a counter right but Parrish avoids it with no problem.
Vandelay has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Vandelay throws an overhand right that drops Parrish like a sack of potatoes! Vandelay dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

After winning the bout, Art Vandelay thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
