The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Partridge gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nice strikes from Partridge there.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Partridge in particular looking to stall.
Tran tries to get to full guard but Partridge has control of the leg.
Tran wants to control but Partridge is keeping busy.
Partridge content to control rather than advance.
Tran looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tran with the active half guard here but Partridge passes nicely into side control.
Tran is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Partridge is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Partridge has hold of Tran's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Tran tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Partridge cranks the arm and Tran screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Tran, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
