The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinos keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Martinos looks to score with a jab to the body but Ashman is just out of range.

Ashman doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Martinos fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Martinos misses the shot to the body.
Jack Martinos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Martinos tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ashman was well out of range. Poor timing from Martinos.

Martinos pushes Ashman away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ashman gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Ashman is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Ashman slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
It looks like Ashman might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Ashman is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Ashman gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Ashman gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Ashman apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Martinos throws a right and a left that both miss.

Martinos uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ashman.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ashman darts in looking for a takedown but Martinos gets double underhooks and turns Ashman into the cage.

Martinos shoots in and gets a takedown into Ashman's guard.
Ashman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Martinos manages to get himself to full guard.

Ernest Ashman has got the better of the ground game so far.
Martinos is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ashman is controlling him.
Ashman advances to half guard.

Ashman wants to work for an arm triangle but Martinos is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ashman is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ashman connects with a nice short shot to Martinos's temple.

Martinos has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Ashman is on him like a limpet, forcing Martinos back against the cage.

Ashman is leaning against Martinos and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Martinos blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Martinos blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Martinos looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Martinos's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Martinos moves to clinch but Ashman breaks away
and Ashman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Martinos won't be happy with that.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ashman creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Ashman in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Martinos is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
