The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mofo looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Whittaker !
Mofo misses with the ground and pound.

Mofo swings around for an armbar but Whittaker sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Mofo's guard.
Mofo wants to get back to his feet but Whittaker is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Whittaker postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Mofo looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Whittaker throws a strike but Mofo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Mofo gets to his feet - Whittaker follows without any prompting.

and Mofo counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Whittaker is looking to clinch but Mofo is avoiding it.

Mofo shoots in and gets a takedown into Whittaker 's guard.

Whittaker is looking to stand up but Mofo isn't so interested in that idea.
Whittaker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Whittaker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Whittaker wants it to stay on the feet.
Mofo is breathing heavily.
Whittaker getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Whittaker bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Mofo's head.
Mofo has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Whittaker finds it's way round the side to connect with Mofo's head.
Whittaker wants to clinch up but Mofo keeps it at a distance.
Whittaker stuns Mofo with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Mofo on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Tyron Whittaker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mofo tries to close the distance and clinch but Whittaker swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Whittaker scores with a jab to the body.
Whittaker throws a head kick that misses.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Whittaker .
The crowd cheers as Whittaker lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mofo doesn't seem phased though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Whittaker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mofo paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Whittaker misses with an attempted mid kick.
Whittaker scores with a nice right hand.
Whittaker misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mofo.
Mofo tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Whittaker manages to circle out of the way.
Whittaker lands the left hand.
Mofo moves out of range of the body kick from Whittaker .
Whittaker moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Mofo shoots in and drives through. Whittaker sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Insane Mofo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Whittaker connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Mofo takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Whittaker scores with a shot to the body.
Mofo walks into a jab.
Whittaker clobbers Mofo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyron Whittaker dominated that round.

Whittaker lands a big uppercut and Mofo crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Mofo looks OK. Whittaker waves Mofo back to his feet!
Oh Mofo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Whittaker has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Whittaker swings for the body but Mofo moves out of range.
Mofo seems to have got his legs back now.
Tyron Whittaker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mofo fails with a takedown attempt.

Whittaker lands a big right hand that sends Mofo crashing to the mat! Whittaker stays standing though and waves Mofo back to his feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mofo takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Whittaker throws a body shot but no joy.
Whittaker lands a really nice looking cross but Mofo seems unphased.
Whittaker leaves Mofo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Whittaker works the jab nicely.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Whittaker feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Mofo sprawling to the canvas! Mofo rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Whittaker finish him?!
Mofo takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Nice straight punches there by Whittaker . You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Whittaker .
Whittaker fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Mofo to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Mofo looks to clinch but Whittaker throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Mofo taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
