The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beary misses with a body kick.
Massey could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Massey misses with a double jab.
Massey stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Massey wants it to stay on the feet.
Beary misses with a takedown attempt - Massey sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Beary gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Massey postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

and Massey counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Beary thinking.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Beary.
Massey steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Beary. That one must have hurt.
Massey misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Beary.
Beary lands a nice leg kick that just misses Massey's sensitive parts.

Beary shoots in but Massey avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hassan Massey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ted Beary.

Massey has his foot on Beary's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Beary works his way back into a safe position though.
Massey might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Beary wants to pass the guard but Massey is keeping the position.

Massey is looking to cinch up a triangle. Beary throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Massey's body to avoid the submission. Massey has instead reached around Beary's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Massey arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
