Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Filiberto Duke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Watts!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Duke instigates a clinch.

Watts jumps guard and drags Duke to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Watts wants to sweep here but Duke controlling him for the moment.
Duke seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Duke gets to his feet - Watts follows without any prompting.

Watts drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duke tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Watts wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Watts scores with a couple of short elbows.

Watts shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Duke's guard.

Duke is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Watts is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Duke holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Watts tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

You get the feeling that Duke really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Watts jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Duke is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Duke and Watts has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The ground and pound from Watts seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Watts goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Duke rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Watts's guard! Nice work there by Duke!
Duke could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Duke slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Duke is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Duke gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Watts closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Duke has Watts pressed against the cage, preventing Watts from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Duke breaks from the clinch.
Duke tries to clinch up but Watts circles away and keeps his distance.
Watts is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Duke with a body shot.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Duke breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Watts dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Watts decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Duke, up you get!

Watts fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Duke, pushing him back against the cage.

Watts decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Watts takes the fight into the clinch.
Duke landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Duke gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Watts looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Duke decides to return to a standing position.
Watts is breathing heavily.

Duke gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Watts is looking to stand up but Duke won't let him.
Watts stops Duke from standing up.
Watts in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Duke wants to stand but Watts is controlling the position.
Duke tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Watts is working Duke over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Watts throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Duke works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Watts has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Watts darts in and clinches Duke up against the cage.
Still in the clinch, Watts scores with a nice short uppercut.
Watts has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Duke moves out of range of the body kick from Watts.

Watts has closed the distance and engaged Duke in a clinch.
Duke keeps control of Watts as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Duke breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Watts gets a double leg takedown into Duke's guard.
Watts wants to stand but Duke has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Duke has his feet on Watts's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Duke clinches up with Watts and pushes him back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Watts showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

The referee is keeping an eye on Watts - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Duke pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Watts rushes Duke and presses him up against the cage.
Watts is trying to break free.

Duke manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Watts keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Duke tries to throw a body punch but Watts avoids it by throwing Duke back against the cage.

Duke gets to his feet. Watts looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Duke tries to counter by clinching up but Watts breaks away and moves out of range.
Watts takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Watts is trying to stall.

Watts prevents Duke from standing back up.

Watts trying to control the action but Duke is working from the bottom.
Duke desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Duke gets full guard.

Duke utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Watts wants to control from the top but Duke keeps moving.
Watts looking to sit in guard and control but Duke gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Duke decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Watts, up you get!

Duke closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Watts has hold of one of Duke's legs. Duke is fighting the takedown attempt but Watts gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Duke has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Watts off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Duke stands up from Watts's guard - Duke perhaps looking for a knockout.

Watts shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Watts showed some decent athleticism there.

Duke has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Watts is on him like a limpet, forcing Duke back against the cage.
Joe Watts is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Duke manages to break the clinch.

Duke fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Watts to the ground. Duke is now in Watts's guard.
Watts controls Duke momentarily but Duke frees himself.
Duke is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Filiberto Duke has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Duke drops back looking for a leg! Watts is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Watts manages to kick Duke off! Duke jumps back into Watts's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Filiberto Duke showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Watts has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
