The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuinha misses with a straight right.

Hendricks tries to keep at a distance but Fuinha has taken the fight into the clinch.

Fuinha has his foot on Hendricks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hendricks works his way back into a safe position though.

Hendricks tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Fuinha manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Neil Hendricks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fuinha has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hendricks uses from the top position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hendricks connects with a nice short shot to Fuinha's temple.

Hendricks is staying active underneath Fuinha, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Let's hope that Fuinha has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well Fuinha has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
