Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Georges Meese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neculai Costel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Costel has chosen Ain't No Sunshine as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Neculai Costel!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Costel darts in and clinches Meese up against the cage.
Meese is trying to force a seperation but Costel has the dominant position.

Costel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Costel looks for a takedown but Meese sprawls well.
A little feinted left hand from Meese on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Costel fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Meese, pushing him back against the cage.
Costel goes for a takedown attempt but Meese pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Georges Meese has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Neculai Costel.
Meese keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Meese throws an overhand right that lands on Costel's shoulder, as Costel tries to avoid the shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Costel has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Meese's face.
Meese's coaches at Holding Cell have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Meese's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
