Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Hung Frederick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerald Sloane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gerald Sloane has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Hung Frederick's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hung Frederick!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gerald Sloane!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloane throws a lazy head kick
and Frederick counters with a three punch combo that has Sloane backing up. Sloane nods at Frederick to acknowledge the strikes.
Sloane shoots and misses
and Frederick counters with a nice body shot.
Frederick fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Sloane fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Frederick is out of range.
Frederick appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Sloane shoots for a takedown but Frederick saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Frederick moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Gerald Sloane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Frederick tries to keep at a distance but Sloane has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sloane jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Frederick walks away with a smile on his face. Sloane gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Hung Frederick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gerald Sloane.
Sloane throws a left and a right that both miss
and Frederick counters with a good low kick that Sloane was not able to check.
Sloane tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Frederick swivels and escapes.
Frederick throws a big counter combination but Sloane scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Sloane looks winded!

Sloane shoots and misses
and Frederick counters with a three punch combo that has Sloane backing up. Sloane nods at Frederick to acknowledge the strikes.
Frederick throws a sloppy head kick and Sloane moves out of range easily.

Sloane shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sloane showed some decent athleticism there.

Frederick has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Sloane is on him like a limpet, forcing Frederick back against the cage.
Sloane looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sloane can't break the clinch.
Sloane is trying to pull guard but Frederick turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Sloane has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Frederick avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Frederick stalls.

Frederick has Sloane pushed against the cage.

Sloane wants to get back to striking at distance but Frederick won't allow it.
Frederick can't get the takedown.
Frederick is trying to drag Sloane to the mat but Sloane just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Sloane jumps guard and drags Frederick to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hung Frederick dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Sloane tries to keep at a distance but Frederick has taken the fight into the clinch.
Frederick goes for a takedown attempt but Sloane pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Hung Frederick is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sloane throws a right and a left that both miss.
As Sloane looks to move away, Frederick throws a big counter combo but Sloane just gets out of the way.

Sloane moves into the clinch.

Frederick jumps guard and drags Sloane to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Frederick is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sloane can do to turn this around?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Frederick is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Frederick is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sloane trying to stand up but can't free himself from Frederick's guard.

Frederick slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Frederick has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Sloane is striking from the bottom but Frederick uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Sloane is trying to maintain the position but Frederick is very close to passing his half guard.

Frederick thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sloane's head.

Sloane is breathing heavily.
Sloane wants to improve his position but Frederick is controlling well.

Frederick is looking for a kimura but Sloane is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Frederick to get the leverage.

Frederick is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sloane doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Frederick.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Sloane has his takedown stuffed
and Frederick counters with a left and a right that stings Sloane.
Sloane shoots in looking for a takedown but Frederick manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sloane's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
As Sloane looks to move away, Frederick throws a big counter combo but Sloane just gets out of the way.

Frederick moves into range and clinches up with Sloane.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sloane drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Frederick gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Hung Frederick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gerald Sloane.
Sloane tries to pull guard but Frederick holds him up against the cage and eventually Sloane drops back down to his feet.
Frederick tries to score a body lock takedown but Sloane shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Sloane has closed the distance and engaged Frederick in a clinch.

Frederick seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Frederick has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sloane tries a head kick but it misses.
Frederick drops down looking for a counter takedown but Sloane sprawls and moves away.
Sloane lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Sloane manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Frederick on his heels. He'll look to pass Frederick's guard now, I'm sure.

Frederick uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Sloane takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sloane pushes Frederick up against the cage in a clinch.
Sloane tries to pull guard but Frederick holds him up against the cage and eventually Sloane drops back down to his feet.
Sloane is trying to pull guard but Frederick has him pressed against the cage.

Sloane has had enough of the clinch but Frederick keeps him there for the moment.
Frederick's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Frederick wants a takedown.

Sloane drags the fight down to the ground.
Frederick with a nice head shot there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sloane has control of Frederick's left arm, preventing Frederick from doing any damage.
Frederick stays in close to Sloane's body and controls the position.

Hung Frederick overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Frederick controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sloane is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Frederick stays in close to Sloane's body and controls the position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hung Frederick.
Well Frederick has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
