The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diol fails with the takedown.
Wittman misses with a takedown

and Diol counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Diol is pressing down on Wittman's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wittman is holding on for now.
Wittman is trying is best to control the position here.
Diol looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Diol thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wittman's head.

Diol is looking for a kimura here.
Wittman keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Diol is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Wittman is looking to improve his position.
Diol is looking to take a break and control but Wittman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Diol gets the takedown into side control.
Wittman is trying to control Diol's posture but Diol avoids it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Wittman has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Diol. Oh but Wittman has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Diol goes limp - he's gone! Wittman jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
