Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Salomon Nevalainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harold Shermann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Salomon Nevalainen has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Salomon Nevalainen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Harold Shermann!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shermann fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Nevalainen stuffs the takedown.
Shermann shoots for a double leg takedown but Nevalainen sprawls well. He's pushed Shermann's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Salomon Nevalainen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Harold Shermann.
Shermann tries for a takedown but Nevalainen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Shermann clinches with his opponent.

Shermann has picked Nevalainen up - he's going for a ride! Shermann dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Nevalainen on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nevalainen tries to get out of the position.
Nevalainen is refusing to be controlled, as Shermann sits in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shermann should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nevalainen is on top in guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nevalainen is on top in guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Nevalainen controls from within his opponent's guard.
Nevalainen is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Nevalainen wants to control from the top but Shermann keeps moving.
Nevalainen keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Shermann's head.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Shermann has eaten all the pies!

Nevalainen lands a couple of elbows.
Nevalainen connects with a couple of short punches.
Nevalainen landing with the ground and pound.
Shermann has momentary wrist control but Nevalainen slips an elbow through the middle.
Nevalainen stands up over Shermann, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Nevalainen postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Nevalainen stands and throws Shermann's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Nevalainen has control of an arm but Shermann manages to advance to Nevalainen's back!

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Nevalainen trying to control the hands but Shermann won't let him.
Even with his hooks in, Shermann manages to miss with strikes from the back.

Shermann has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Nevalainen has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Shermann is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Nevalainen is taking damage to the body and head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nevalainen has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Shermann.
Nevalainen tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Nevalainen avoids a series of strikes thrown by Shermann.
Nevalainen is trying desperately to improve position.

Nevalainen tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Poor strikes thrown by Shermann there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Nevalainen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shermann is one step ahead there.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

so Nevalainen counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Shermann is wriggling around but Nevalainen manages to pass to half guard.

Shermann is trying to get back to full guard.
Nevalainen wants to take a breather but Shermann is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nevalainen is looking to advance position but Shermann won't allow it.
Nevalainen scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Salomon Nevalainen will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

It looks like Harold Shermann has been cut.
Nevalainen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Shermann can do to turn this around?
Nevalainen lands a heavy elbow.


Shermann is rocked!
Nevalainen loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Shermann scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Nevalainen land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Nevalainen stands and salutes the crowd.
