Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Redman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Muten Roshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Redman comes to the cage accompanied by Sympathy for the Devil. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Johnny Redman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Muten Roshi!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roshi throws a right and a left that Redman avoids nicely.
Roshi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Redman swivels and escapes.
Roshi misses the shot to the body.
Roshi misses with the combination.
Redman dodges the punch combination from Roshi.

Redman drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Redman postures up in Roshi's guard and throws a big left but Roshi blocks it.
Redman tries to free his leg and advance position but Roshi is retaining full guard.
Redman wants to control from the top but Roshi keeps moving.

Roshi looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Redman throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Roshi works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Redman sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Roshi's guard.
Redman content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Redman is nestled in close to Roshi, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Roshi is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Redman pulls his head out easily.

Redman seems to be looking for submissions.

Redman is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Roshi makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Roshi.

Roshi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Roshi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Roshi misses with a series of wild punches.
Roshi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

so Redman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Redman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Roshi had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Redman is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Roshi Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Redman's back instead.

Even with his hooks in, Roshi manages to miss with strikes from the back.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Redman dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Roshi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Redman is in close to Roshi's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Roshi throws a head kick but Redman moves out of range.

Roshi misses the shot to the body.

Redman doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Roshi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Redman's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Redman is on top in guard.

Roshi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Redman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Redman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Redman drops back looking for a leg! Roshi is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Roshi manages to kick Redman off! Redman jumps back into Roshi's guard.
