PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Black Mamba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robo Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pope is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ghost - Monstrance Clock. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pope throws a sloppy head kick and Mamba moves out of range easily.

and Mamba counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Pope looks winded!

Mamba shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pope manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Mamba trying to control the position from guard on top but Pope is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mamba might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Mamba wants to pass the guard but Pope is keeping the position.
Mamba is pushing down on Pope's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pope is fighting to maintain full guard but Mamba has managed to sneak the leg through.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mamba is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mamba in particular looking to stall.

Mamba is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pope defends it well.

Mamba is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Mamba moves into full mount! Pope won't be happy about that!

Pope defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Mamba.

Mamba goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Pope turns into him and now he's in Mamba's guard.

Mamba had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Pope defends it easily.

Pope is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Mamba has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Pope is looking to defend but Mamba has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Pope! Mamba pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Pope taps out and this one is all over!
