The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norris Jr takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Staton uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Norris Jr.
Norris Jr pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Norris Jr swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Norris Jr slips a jab from Staton.

Norris Jr fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Staton manages to avoid it.

Staton works Norris Jr's body with a nice hook.

Staton cracks Norris Jr with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Staton waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Norris Jr. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Norris Jr to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

Staton is in close to Norris Jr's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Staton sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Norris Jr's guard.
Staton content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Staton is looking for a kimura but Norris Jr is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Staton to get the leverage.
Norris Jr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Staton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
