PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Damien Hellsfyre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rei Higuchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hellsfyre shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Higuchi manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hellsfyre accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Higuchi wants to sweep but no luck.
Hellsfyre distracts Higuchi with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Higuchi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Higuchi drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hellsfyre dives on top into guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Higuchi is looking to cinch up a triangle. Hellsfyre throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Higuchi's body to avoid the submission. Higuchi has instead reached around Hellsfyre's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Higuchi arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

A less than humble Rei Higuchi misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
