And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Demetri Puleveski!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puleveski misses with a straight left.
Puleveski swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Boyd.
Puleveski throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Boyd sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Puleveski slips under a jab.
Boyd stuns Puleveski with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Boyd comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Puleveski clinches up against the cage.

Boyd has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Puleveski clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Puleveski looks winded!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Puleveski is trapped and Boyd is scoring with shots to the head and body.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boyd is landing with strikes from the back.
Boyd has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Boyd is throwing shots to the body but Puleveski manages to wriggle free. Boyd pounces on him again and ends up in Puleveski's guard.
Boyd throws a big right hand that misses.
Boyd controls from within his opponent's guard.
Boyd trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Boyd wants to control from the top but Puleveski keeps moving.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Boyd postures up and lands a big shot to Puleveski's brow.
Puleveski keeping moving, preventing Boyd from controlling successfully.
Boyd will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Boyd pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Puleveski is keeping the position for now.
Boyd throws a big elbow that misses.
Boyd wants to control from the top but Puleveski keeps moving.
Puleveski preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Boyd is in close to Puleveski's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Boyd in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Puleveski working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Boyd.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Puleveski holds on and takes a little breather.
Boyd pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Puleveski is keeping the position for now.

Boyd is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Boyd tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Puleveski was well out of range. Poor timing from Boyd.
Boyd scores with a push kick.
Puleveski throws a right hand that Boyd ducks under and follows up with a left that Boyd also avoids with ease.
Boyd half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Puleveski takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Boyd throws a body punch but Puleveski moves out of range.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Boyd tries to land a leg kick but Puleveski saw it coming and moves away.
Boyd throws a leg kick which misses Puleveski's front leg but catches the back leg as Puleveski tries to avoid it.

Boyd fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Puleveski sprawls well initially but Boyd persists and gets the takedown into half guard.


Puleveski is rocked!
Boyd lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Puleveski! More strikes land and this one is all over! Boyd jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sammy Boyd!
Our winner, Sammy Boyd, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
