The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie Jr shoots in and bounces Thunder off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Thunder is looking to stand back up but Gracie Jr counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Thunder.
Gracie Jr slows the pace down in half guard.
Gracie Jr blocks the strikes from Thunder.
Thunder is trying to get back to full guard.
Thunder wants to get back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gracie Jr lands a nice short elbow.
Thunder tries to roll over but Gracie Jr keeps him under control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie Jr seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Thunder tries to get to full guard but Gracie Jr has control of the leg.

Gracie Jr takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thunder can do anything to dispel that myth.
Thunder tries to improve his position but Gracie Jr has taken his back! Gracie Jr has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Thunder tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Gracie Jr pushes Thunder away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Damian Gracie Jr tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
