Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Darren Wiley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rua throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Wiley tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rua is in Wiley's guard.
Wiley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rua on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wiley wants to improve his position but instead Rua has moved into half guard.

Rua wants to work for an arm triangle but Wiley is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Rua wants to stand but Wiley has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Wiley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rua wants to stand up but Wiley is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rua stands up and beckons Wiley to join him on the feet.

Rua shoots in but Wiley avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Anderson Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rua manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wiley on his heels. He'll look to pass Wiley's guard now, I'm sure.

It looks like Rua might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Rua looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Rua's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Rua is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Rua landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Rua lands a nice short elbow.
Rua looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Wiley wants to get back to full guard but Rua has mounted him!

Rua wants to finish this one by submission but Wiley is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Rua.
Wiley takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Rua blocks Wiley's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Rua can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wiley is looking to escape.

Rua swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
