Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rock Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen throws a leg kick but Alves sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Alves instigates a clinch.

It looks like Rock Allen has been cut.

Alves avoiding damage as Allen throws knees to the body.
Allen fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Allen wants to break free but Alves has control.

We've been informed that Allen has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

and Alves counters with a good low kick that Allen was not able to check.

Allen dives in for a single leg takedown but Alves sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
