The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodgers tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Brewski defends well and Rodgers ends up having to push Brewski into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Brewski stalks Rodgers and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Rodgers's face. Rodgers staggers backwards, shaken.
Brewski throws a nice looking combination but Rodgers bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Brewski leaves Rodgers with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Brewski shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Rodgers manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Brewski keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Alton Brewski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brewski bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brewski lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Rodgers hang on?
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Brewski cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
