Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luther Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Braetius Vercingeto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson comes into the arena with Thor's Hammer! blaring out of the sound system. Vercingeto has chosen Wild Jig Of Beltaine as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Braetius Vercingeto!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anderson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Anderson is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Anderson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Vercingeto scoring with some ground and pound.
Anderson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Vercingeto manages to get himself to full guard.

Anderson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vercingeto swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Anderson drops back looking for a leg! Vercingeto is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vercingeto manages to kick Anderson off! Anderson jumps back into Vercingeto's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Anderson's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Anderson definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Anderson stops Vercingeto from standing up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Anderson is pushing down on Vercingeto's leg trying to pass to half guard. Vercingeto is fighting to maintain full guard but Anderson has managed to sneak the leg through.
Anderson is looking to take a break and control but Vercingeto is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Anderson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vercingeto keeps working.
Anderson wants to pass to mount but Vercingeto is defending the position.

Anderson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Anderson is keen to just control but Vercingeto is a slippery customer.
Anderson lands with a punch from half guard.
Anderson drops an elbow to the side of Vercingeto's head.
Anderson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Vercingeto keeps working.

Anderson thows a huge punch but Vercingeto dodges it nicely.
Vercingeto really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anderson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Anderson lands a nice short elbow.
Anderson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Anderson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vercingeto does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Anderson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Vercingeto is trying to stand.
Vercingeto is refusing to be controlled, as Anderson sits in half guard.
Vercingeto is looking to escape.
Anderson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Anderson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Anderson trying to control the action but Vercingeto is working from the bottom.
Anderson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Anderson not doing much here.

Anderson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Anderson is trying for a kimura here. Vercingeto looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Anderson wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Luther Anderson!
Luther Anderson opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
