Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brendan Parsons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deair Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brendan Parsons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Deair Shaw!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Reed Andrews and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Shaw misses.
Parsons is looking to counter the offense by Shaw and move into the clinch.

Parsons shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Shaw is trying to defend but Parsons finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Well, if Parsons is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Shaw looks like he's trying to stand up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Parsons is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shaw is just riding it out for now. Parsons eventually gives up the hold.

Shaw has hold of Parsons's hands but Parsons slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Parsons winds up and cracks Shaw with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Parsons lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Parsons landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Parsons throws a strike but Shaw avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Parsons working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Shaw's head.
Parsons working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Shaw really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Parsons. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Parsons content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Parsons has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Parsons scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Parsons stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Parsons shoots in looking for a takedown. Shaw tries to sprawl out of it but Parsons keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shaw manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Parsons tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shaw is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Shaw can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Parsons controls the pace.
Parsons with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Shaw is breathing heavily.
Parsons seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Parsons is pushing down on Shaw's leg trying to pass to half guard. Shaw is fighting to maintain full guard but Parsons has managed to sneak the leg through.

Parsons working over Shaw with some ground and pound. Shaw looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Parsons working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Shaw's thigh. Shaw counters though and makes it back to full guard.
Parsons is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Parsons stands and steps away. Shaw gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Parsons looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Shaw!
Shaw bucks up and tries to throw Parsons off but instead Parsons has got his back!
Shaw grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Parsons is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Shaw up.
Parsons cracks Shaw with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Shaw from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
What can Shaw do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Brendan Parsons overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Parsons has good solid back control here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
