PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shadow Crazy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Junior Jack!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shadow Crazy!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jack tries to close the distance and clinch but Crazy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Crazy moves into range and clinches up with Jack.
Crazy is trying to drag Jack to the mat but Jack just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Jack jumps guard but Crazy turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Crazy wants a takedown.
Crazy wants to take the fight to the mat but Jack manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Junior Jack has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shadow Crazy.
Crazy tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jack just stands there and leans against the cage.
Crazy is trying to force a seperation but Jack has the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crazy jumps guard but Jack stands there with Crazy around his waist. Crazy gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Jack swings wildly with an uppercut but Crazy uses good head movement to avoid it.

Jack is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Crazy can't fight it off and eventually Jack manages to take the fight to the floor. Crazy looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Crazy is working an open guard so Jack takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Crazy.

Jack drops Crazy with a beautiful combination! Crazy stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Jack is looking for the KO!


Crazy is rocked!


It looks like Shadow Crazy has been cut.
Crazy tries to clinch there but Jack circles away.
Jack tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Crazy manages to circle out of the way.
Jack pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Crazy tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jack defends well and Crazy ends up having to push Jack into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Jack fails with a takedown attempt.
A bone on bone clash there as Jack blocks the leg kick.

Jack shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jack cracks Crazy with a solid left hand.
Jack trying to control but Crazy is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jack postures up.
Jack has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Crazy pulls Jack in close to prevent any damage.

Jack decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Crazy, up you get!

Crazy has Jack up against the cage in a clinch.
Crazy has Jack pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jack manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Crazy looks winded!

Jack pulls guard.
Crazy trying to control but Jack is working from the bottom.
Jack wants to stand and escape but Crazy is having none of it.
Jack wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Crazy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jack works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Crazy preventing the sweep.
Jack keeping moving, preventing Crazy from controlling successfully.
Jack has his hands on Crazy's head, controlling the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A head kick by Jack misses

and Crazy counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Crazy is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jack pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Crazy jumps guard but Jack stands there with Crazy around his waist. Crazy gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Crazy manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jack circles away from the clinch attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Crazy.

Crazy clinches.
Crazy jumps guard but Jack stands there with Crazy around his waist. Crazy gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Crazy is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jack gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Junior Jack has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shadow Crazy.
Jack stalling in the clinch but Crazy improves position.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Jack pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jack is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Crazy can do to turn this around?

Jack tries to clinch but Crazy is having none of it.

Jack drives through with a takedown into guard.

Crazy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Crazy is breathing heavily.
Jack wants to control from the top but Crazy keeps moving.
Jack stands and throws Crazy's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Jack looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Crazy is pushing Jack's head away, looking to escape. Jack manages to hold on to the position though.
Jack is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Crazy will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Crazy tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Jack decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Crazy tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jack swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jack lands a nice looking body kick.

Jack gets the takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Crazy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jack wants to lay and pray for a moment but Crazy keeps working.
Jack advances to mount.
Jack avoids the attempt from Crazy to control.
Jack tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Crazy is trying to escape the mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Crazy is squirming around, avoiding Jack's attempts to control the action.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jack looking to control and managing it successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Jack circles away from the clinch attempt.
Crazy shoots in looking for a takedown. Jack tries to sprawl out of it but Crazy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jack manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jack cracks the inside of Crazy's front leg.

Jack has closed the distance and engaged Crazy in a clinch.
Crazy tries to pull guard but Jack holds him up against the cage and eventually Crazy drops back down to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jack pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Crazy misses with a hook.
Nice sprawl there from Crazy as Jack shoots in.
Junior Jack is winning the standup battle so far.

Jack displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Crazy.
Jack tries to counter by clinching up but Crazy breaks away and moves out of range.
Junior Jack has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shadow Crazy.
Jack keeps the fight on the outside.

Crazy tries to sprawl but Jack drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Crazy makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Crazy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Junior Jack is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jack tries to clinch up but Crazy circles away and keeps his distance.
A jab from Jack does it's job there.
Jack lands a head kick!
Crazy is still on wobbly legs! Can Jack finish him?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Crazy gets caught flat footed, as Jack shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Crazy manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Crazy seems to have recovered his senses.
Crazy wants a takedown but no success here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jack is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Crazy to keep the fight standing.

Jack breaks from the clinch.
Jack feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Crazy's calf.

Jack moves into range and clinches up with Crazy.
Jack stalling the fight.

Crazy breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jack will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Crazy goes for a double leg but Jack avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jack continues to drive forward.
Crazy misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Jack bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jack lands a nice forearm strike.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Crazy is trying to get back to his feet.

Jack is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Crazy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Jack is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Crazy is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Crazy is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Jack's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Crazy keeping control of the position.
Crazy wants to improve his position but Jack is controlling well.

And that's the end of the fight!
Junior Jack showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Jack has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
