Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Milan Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Milan Kent!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlos Silva!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Anthony Taglia and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a head kick that misses

and Kent counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that.
Silva looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Kent being controlled here momentarily.
Silva looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Kent puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kent not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Kent knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Kent is trying to control. Silva wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Kent wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kent lands a nice short elbow.

Silva is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kent pulls his head out easily.
Kent thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Silva's head.
Kent controlling the pace.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Silva wants to improve his position but Kent is controlling well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
A head kick misses from Kent.
Silva throws a body kick that misses.
Carlos Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva motions for Kent to come forward. Silva throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Silva looks to land a combination but Kent avoids it well.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Kent shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kent seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Kent jumps into guard, dragging Silva to the mat.
Kent tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kent swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Silva keeps trying to improve his position.
Kent not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Silva looking to pass the guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Silva slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Silva lands an elbow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Silva tries to advance to mount but can't.
We've been informed that Silva has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Silva scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Kent to see if he's OK.

Silva is trying to get an arm triangle but Kent is defending well.
Silva wants to control but Kent is keeping him busy.
Kent prevents Silva from improving position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kent is not content to let Silva control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Milan Kent will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Silva throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
It looked like Kent wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Silva circles away from the clinch attempt.
Silva tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Kent changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Silva.

Kent gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Kent pulls guard successfully.
Kent is trying to keep Silva in close.
Silva throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Silva is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva wants to control from the top but Kent keeps moving.
Silva passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Silva tries for a kimura but Kent is defending well.
Silva has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Kent!

Silva is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kent to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kent shrugs it off.

Silva jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Kent is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Kent and Silva has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Silva tries to stand but Kent is controlling his head.

Silva throws an elbow but Kent slips to the side and avoids it well.
Kent gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Silva with shots to the head and body - Kent looks very uncomfortable down there.
Carlos Silva has got the better of the ground game so far.

Kent tries to hold on but Silva pushes him away.
The referee warns Kent that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Silva cracks Kent with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Silva has isolated one of Kent's arms. Kent looking to fight him off but Silva twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
