Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between leo viera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spider Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). viera comes to the cage accompanied by real thugs. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva moves in looking to clinch but viera pushes him off.

viera closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
viera working away.

viera tries for a kimura but Silva is defending well.
Silva stops viera from passing to mount.

viera thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
viera throws a strike aimed at the side of Silva's head but Silva avoids it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva manages to work his way to half guard, despite viera's best efforts.
Silva wants to control but viera passes into side.
Silva is trying to get back to half guard.
viera controls the position.

viera working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Silva can't do much from the bottom here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
viera is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Silva will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva tries to control the position but he's not in luck - viera easily slips into full mount!
viera really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Silva tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Silva flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Silva tries to improve his position but viera has taken his back! viera has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Silva tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! viera pushes Silva away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
