Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Reis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gordon Ramyay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reis's entrance music is Blood Brothers. A fine choice. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodrigo Reis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gordon Ramyay!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Reis misses with a leg kick.
Reis throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Ramyay throws a leg kick

and Reis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ramyay's guard.
Reis throwing strikes from guard but Ramyay blocks nicely.
Reis pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ramyay is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Reis won't allow Ramyay to get back to his feet.
Reis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ramyay's guard.
Ramyay tries to kick Reis off in order to stand up. Reis Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Reis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Reis is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ramyay knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Reis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Ramyay gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Ramyay wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reis goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Ramyay turns into him and now he's in Reis's guard.
Ramyay has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Reis is proving hard to escape from.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Reis working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ramyay doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ramyay manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Reis is breathing heavily.

Ramyay decides to return to a standing position.

enabling Reis to counter with a crisp jab.
Reis throws a right hand that Ramyay ducks under and follows up with a left that Ramyay also avoids with ease.

Nice defenses there by Reis.

Reis throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

and Reis counters with a thumping low kick.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Reis tries to clinch but Ramyay moves out of range.
Ramyay scores with a leg kick.
Ramyay throws a head kick but Reis moves out of range.
Ramyay throws a push kick but Reis slaps the foot to one side.

Reis keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
No joy there for Reis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ramyay tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Reis counters with a shoot takedown. Ramyay fights it but they end up in guard.

Reis shoots in and bounces Ramyay off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Reis wants to control from the top but Ramyay keeps moving.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Ramyay has his feet on Reis's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Reis drives through and clinches with Ramyay against the cage.
Ramyay connects with a knee to the head.
Ramyay tries to land a knee to the head but Reis blocks with his arms.
Reis jumps guard but Ramyay stands there with Reis around his waist. Reis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Ramyay stops a takedown attempt from Reis.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Reis goes for a takedown attempt but Ramyay pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Reis looks for a takedown but Ramyay sprawls well.
Reis avoids the head kick by Ramyay.

Ramyay explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Reis cracks Ramyay with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Reis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ramyay throws out the jab.

and Reis counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Ramyay throws an overhand right that lands on Reis's shoulder, as Reis tries to avoid the shot.

Ramyay avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Ramyay decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Reis, up you get!
Rodrigo Reis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Ramyay tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nice sprawl there from Ramyay as Reis shoots in.

Reis looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ramyay pushes Reis off looking to stand but Reis dives back in and keeps control.

Reis is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rodrigo Reis showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Reis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
