Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Len Daniels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Pettigrew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robert Pettigrew will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Len Daniels!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Robert Pettigrew!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pettigrew gets caught flat footed, as Daniels shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Daniels is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Pettigrew striking off his back but it's not causing Daniels any problems.
Pettigrew tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Pettigrew pulls Daniels in close to his closed guard and prevents Daniels from doing any damage or advancing position.

Daniels thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Daniels drops back looking for a leg! Pettigrew is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pettigrew manages to kick Daniels off! Daniels jumps back into Pettigrew's guard.

Daniels throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Daniels gets a clinch.

Pettigrew fails to pull guard.

Pettigrew manages to break the clinch.

Daniels clinches up against the cage.

Pettigrew escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Pettigrew darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pettigrew tries to pass the half guard into mount. Daniels knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Daniels tries to get to full guard but Pettigrew has control of the leg.
Pettigrew tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Daniels.

Daniels actively working from the bottom here.
Pettigrew is keen to just control but Daniels is a slippery customer.

Pettigrew blocks the strikes from Daniels.

Pettigrew wants to work for an arm triangle but Daniels is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Daniels is looking to improve his position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Some wild striking there from Daniels.
Daniels shoots for a takedown but Pettigrew saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Daniels is breathing heavily.

Pettigrew gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Daniels wants to get back to full guard.
Pettigrew seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Daniels works his way to full guard. Good work.

Pettigrew avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Daniels is looking for a triangle but Pettigrew pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pettigrew trying to control but Daniels is working from the bottom.

Daniels is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Daniels keeping moving, preventing Pettigrew from controlling successfully.

Daniels looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Pettigrew has picked Daniels up and slammed him! Daniels can't keep hold of the triangle and Pettigrew manages to pass to side control!
Daniels tries to bench press Pettigrew off him but Pettigrew keeps the position.
Daniels is working hard here to advance position.

Pettigrew cracks Daniels with a big right hand but Daniels just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Pettigrew trying to control the action but Daniels is working from the bottom.
Pettigrew blocks the strikes from Daniels.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Len Daniels will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

and Daniels counters with a shoot takedown. Pettigrew fights it but they end up in guard.

Daniels throwing strikes but missing.
Pettigrew is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Daniels sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pettigrew's guard.

Daniels is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Pettigrew avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Daniels.

Daniels is working for a submission of some sort.
Pettigrew gets full guard.
Daniels working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Daniels missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Daniels loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Pettigrew is trying to control the position but Daniels postures up.

Daniels postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pettigrew is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Daniels, into his guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Daniels looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Pettigrew trying to control the position from guard on top but Daniels is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Daniels has his feet on Pettigrew's thighs here. He's pushed Pettigrew off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Pettigrew screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
