The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Socrates throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Dutt.
Dutt changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Socrates tries to avoid it but Dutt manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Socrates to the ground. Socrates escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Yogi Dutt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dutt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Socrates circles away.
Socrates really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Socrates pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Dutt back to the cage. Socrates follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Socrates stalks Dutt and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dutt's face. Dutt staggers backwards, shaken.

A little jabbing left from Dutt on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Socrates moves in looking to clinch but Dutt pushes him off.
Socrates keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dutt tries to score a power double leg takedown but Socrates sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dutt somewhat.
Socrates goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Socrates is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Dutt shoots for a double leg takedown but Socrates sprawls well. He's pushed Dutt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
