The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Arular as Kurko shoots in.
Kurko moves out of range of the body kick from Arular.
Kurko shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Arular's guard.

and Kurko counters with a one-two to the body.
Arular chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kurko can pounce on him.

Kurko steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Arular. That one must have hurt.
The crowd cheers as Arular lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kurko doesn't seem phased though.

Arular is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kurko is pressing down on Arular's thigh, looking to free his foot. Arular is holding on for now.

Kurko slips a nice elbow through Arular's hands, connecting with Arular's forehead.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Kurko bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Arular gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Kurko is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Arular is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Arular holds on for dear life, controlling Kurko's posture momentarily.

Arular is in a horrible position here. Kurko smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Arular passes Kurko's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Arular decides to return to a standing position.

and Kurko decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Arular's guard.

Kurko gets to his feet - Arular follows without any prompting.
Kurko misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kurko shoots in for a takedown but Arular shows good takedown defense.
Kurko closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
