PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jorah Will (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anatol Kacper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jorah Will!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anatol Kacper!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Will shoots in and drives through. Kacper sprawls well.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Will shoots in for a takedown but Kacper shows good takedown defense.

Will gets a double leg takedown into Kacper's guard.
Will's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Kacper has his foot on Will's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Will works his way back into a safe position though.
Will is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Kacper working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Will doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Will manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Kacper trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Will is in close to Kacper's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kacper really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Will. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Will content to stall in guard here.
Will trying to control but Kacper is working from the bottom.

Kacper working for submissions but it's allowed Will to get to half guard.
Will is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Kacper is defending against the submission attempts here by Will.
Kacper is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Will lands strikes from half guard.

Will is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Kacper looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Kacper is looking to improve his position.
Will is taking a breather. Kacper says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kacper can do anything to dispel that myth.

Will is working for a submission of some sort.

Will seems to be working for a kimura but Kacper defends the submission attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kacper trying to control but Will postures up.
Will wants to free his trapped foot but Kacper is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Will is working for a kimura but Kacper is defending it quite comfortably.
Will prevents Kacper from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kacper looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Kacper is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kacper wants to control but Will is keeping busy.
Will is looking to take a break and control but Kacper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Will perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Kacper trying to control but Will postures up.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Will controlling the action here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Will gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Kacper to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jorah Will. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Will shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kacper but Kacper pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kacper cracks Will with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kacper has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Will avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Will tries for a takedown but Kacper manages to get underhooks.

Will tightens his grip and picks Kacper up, before dumping him to the ground. Kacper manages to land in guard.
Will is stalling in the full guard.

Kacper looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Will controlling from the top position.

Kacper working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Will doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Will manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Will is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Will's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Kacper gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Kacper has his foot on Will's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Will works his way back into a safe position though.

Will trying to control the position from guard on top but Kacper is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Will lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Will seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Further stalling from Will.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Will avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kacper keeping moving, preventing Will from controlling successfully.
Will is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Will passes Kacper's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Kacper trying to control but Will postures up.
Kacper is looking for a sweep. Will is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Will is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kacper is just riding it out for now. Will eventually gives up the hold.
Will controlling the action here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kacper is refusing to be controlled, as Will sits in half guard.
Kacper wants to get back to his feet.
Kacper trying to hold on to Will's head to control him but Will postures up.
Will keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kacper throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Will tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kacper is in Will's guard.

Kacper got a little sloppy there for a moment and Will has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kacper has managed to get both his arms back between Will's legs - danger averted.
Will has control of Kacper's left arm, preventing Kacper from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jorah Will dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Kacper lands a jab-cross combination.
Kacper fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Kacper keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A combination from Kacper does no damage.
Will looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kacper is fending him off so far but Will persists. Nope, Kacper circles away and we're back to standing.
It seemed like Kacper was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Kacper darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Will fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jorah Will. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Will shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kacper counters with a straight right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kacper moves in looking to clinch but Will pushes him off.
Will shoots in but no luck this time.

Will throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kacper was covering up waiting for the punch and Will finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kacper keeping moving, preventing Will from controlling successfully.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Will prevents Kacper from getting back to his feet.
Kacper keeping full guard, as Will tries to pass.
Kacper throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Will sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Kacper working for submissions but it's allowed Will to get to half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kacper is looking to improve his position.

Will wants to take a breather but Kacper is having none of it.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Will stalling.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Jorah Will seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Will scores with a takedown into Kacper's guard.

Will is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Kacper had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Will defends it easily.
Will pushes down on Kacper's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Kacper tries to roll over but Will keeps him under control.
Will sitting and controlling from the half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Will is thwarting Kacper's attempts to control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Will in particular looking to stall.
Anatol Kacper has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Will looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jorah Will.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Will, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
