PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Chester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marty Preast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marty Preast will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Chester!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marty Preast!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chester throws a left and a right that both miss

and Preast moves into the clinch.
Preast misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Preast can't find room to land a body shot as Chester controls the action.
Preast trying to land knees to the body.
Preast misses with a hook from the clinch.
Preast misses with a punch to the body.
Chester fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Preast has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Chester is trying to keep an underhook but Preast manages to get the takedown into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chester tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Preast wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chester keeps working.

Chester drops back looking for a leg! Preast is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Preast manages to kick Chester off! Chester jumps back into Preast's guard.

so Preast counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chester has gone for a leg lock! Preast slips out almost immediately though and dives into Chester's guard.

Preast is pushing down on Chester's leg trying to pass to half guard. Chester is fighting to maintain full guard but Preast has managed to sneak the leg through.
Preast looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Chester with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Chester enables Preast to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Chester manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Preast takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Chester wants to sweep here but Preast controlling him for the moment.

Marty Preast comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Preast has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
