The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Weitzman is defended easily by Souza.

Souza closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Weitzman gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Souza regains guard.
Weitzman trying to control the position from guard on top but Souza is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Souza on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Souza tries to get out of the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Weitzman wants to control from the top but Souza keeps moving.

Souza working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Weitzman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Souza is tightening it up a little... Weitzman has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Weitzman reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Weitzman taps out! Nice BJJ there by Souza!

In his post fight interview, Ronaldo Souza started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
