The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Eddie Farnsworth and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Mekay misses.
Mekay misses with a double jab.
Peters shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Mekay scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Peters manages to mount him!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Mekay is desperately trying to improve his position but Peters has a good base and remains in mount.
Peters sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Peters get's back to his feet.
Mekay misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Mekay connects with an inside leg kick.
Peters drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Mekay kicks Peters off and gets to his feet.
Mekay misses with a wild combination.
Mekay misses with a few strikes there.
Mekay throws a series of punches but Peters moves out of range.
As Mekay looks to move away, Peters throws a big counter combo but Mekay just gets out of the way.
Mekay tries to bum rush Peters with a series of wild strikes but Peters uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mekay misses with a series of wild punches.
Mekay looks winded!
Mekay throws a one two combo.
Mekay throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Peters.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Peters fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mekay sprawls well initially but Peters persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Peters decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Peters looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mekay!
Mekay on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Peters really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Peters decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Peters throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mekay was covering up waiting for the punch and Peters finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Peters stands and steps away. Mekay gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Peters looking to score a takedown here. Mekay is defending well but Peters drives through and ends up in Mekay's guard.
Peters stands up over Mekay, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Peters chips away with some ground and pound.
Peters stands up from Mekay's guard - Peters perhaps looking for a knockout.
Peters dives in and scores a takedown into Mekay's guard.

Mekay is striking but Peters is not phased and passes to half guard.

Peters stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Mekay gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Peters scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Mekay fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Peters to the ground. Mekay is now in Peters's guard.
Peters pushes Mekay off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mekay is looking to land body kicks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Roy Peters will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Mekay gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Peters will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Peters stands up and waves to Mekay to follow him.
Mekay looks to land a combination. Peters sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Roy Peters has been cut.

Roy Peters is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mekay pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Peters back to the cage. Mekay follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Peters is rocked!
Mekay batters Peters with a massive right followed by a huge left! Peters is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Mekay lands a final crushing right hand to drop Peters to the mat with a gruesome thud! Mekay is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
