PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hector Velez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Qfc Sackmaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velez misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sackmaster.

It looked like Velez wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

and Sackmaster counters with a three punch combo that has Velez backing up. Velez nods at Sackmaster to acknowledge the strikes.

Velez is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Sackmaster unleashes a big counter combination but Velez bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Sackmaster misses with a left hand
and Velez counters with a stiff right hand.
Sackmaster tests Velez's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sackmaster uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Velez.
Sackmaster takes a swing at Velez's ribcage but misses.

Oooooh!!! Sackmaster has knocked Velez down with a huge combo! Sackmaster steps away and waves a wobbly Velez back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Oh Velez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Velez throws a hook but Sackmaster blocks it.

Sloppy strikes from Sackmaster. Those never looked like landing.
It looked like Velez was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Velez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sackmaster lunges at Velez with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Velez's hand.
Sackmaster lands a really nice looking cross but Velez seems unphased.

Sackmaster's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sackmaster throws a right and a left that Velez avoids nicely.
Sackmaster is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Velez had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Sackmaster looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Velez throws out a loose jab but Sackmaster uses good head movement to avoid it.
Velez looks to score with a jab to the body but Sackmaster is just out of range.
A little jabbing left from Sackmaster on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Sackmaster might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Velez looks to throw the jab but Sackmaster is out of range.

Velez takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Sackmaster clobbers Velez with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
The crowd cheers as Sackmaster lands an impressive looking overhand right. Velez doesn't seem phased though.

Velez gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Sackmaster gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
