Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Taras Shevchenko!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lump Beefrock!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beefrock misses with a straight right.
Beefrock throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Shevchenko on the side of the head.


It looks like Taras Shevchenko has been cut.
Beefrock is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shevchenko.
Shevchenko attempts a counter takedown but Beefrock avoids it well and moves away.
Shevchenko shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Beefrock defends it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shevchenko takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Beefrock looks to throw the jab but Shevchenko is out of range.
Beefrock lands a jab to the head.
Beefrock throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Shevchenko counters with a nice double leg into side control. Beefrock won't be happy with that.
Shevchenko is looking to take a break and control but Beefrock is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Shevchenko with the ground and pound but Beefrock regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Shevchenko is trying to control. Beefrock wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Beefrock keeps control of the position for the meantime.

It looks like Lump Beefrock has been cut.
Shevchenko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Shevchenko slips a nice elbow through Beefrock's hands, connecting with Beefrock's forehead.
Shevchenko seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Shevchenko looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Beefrock with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
This has been an exciting period of action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shevchenko is in close to Beefrock's body, working some short punches and elbows.


The cut above Lump Beefrock's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Beefrock looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Shevchenko trying to control but Beefrock is working from the bottom.
Shevchenko throws an elbow that misses. Beefrock uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Shevchenko's guard. Nice move by Beefrock!

Shevchenko controls Beefrock momentarily but Beefrock frees himself.

Shevchenko isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Beefrock stacks Shevchenko on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Beefrock!
Shevchenko is trying to get back to half guard.
Shevchenko is working hard here to advance position.
Shevchenko is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Beefrock controlling the action here.
Beefrock blocks the strikes from Shevchenko.
Shevchenko is trying to control but can't.
Shevchenko slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Shevchenko escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Beefrock gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Beefrock must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Shevchenko controls Beefrock momentarily but Beefrock frees himself.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Shevchenko is looking for a triangle but Beefrock pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Taras Shevchenko will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Shevchenko takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Shevchenko shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Beefrock as he jumps to the side.
Beefrock throws a half hearted mid kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Beefrock connects with a right hand. Shevchenko shakes it off.
A head kick misses from Beefrock.

Beefrock throws a sloppy head kick and Shevchenko moves out of range easily.
Beefrock is looking to land body kicks.
A little feinted left hand from Shevchenko on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Shevchenko tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Beefrock swivels and escapes.
Beefrock tries to clinch up.
Shevchenko looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Beefrock misses with a body kick.
Beefrock misses with a series of wild punches.
A counter left hand to the body from Shevchenko misses its target.

Shevchenko tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Beefrock defends well and Shevchenko ends up having to push Beefrock into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Taras Shevchenko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Beefrock cracks Shevchenko with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.


Taras Shevchenko's cut is getting worse.
A jab from Beefrock does it's job there.
Beefrock throws a solid leg kick but Shevchenko takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Beefrock.
A little feinted left hand from Shevchenko on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
A solid leg kick lands there for Beefrock.
Beefrock has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Shevchenko displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Beefrock throws out the jab.

Shevchenko drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Shevchenko postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Shevchenko slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Beefrock seems keen to control Shevchenko's posture.

Lump Beefrock's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Lump Beefrock's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
