The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darrow slips under a jab from Doremus.

Doremus is working for takedown but Darrow is calmly controlling the position for now.

Darrow pushes Doremus back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Doremus has Darrow pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Doremus pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Darrow tumbling to the mat - Doremus dives into Darrow's guard.
Darrow is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Doremus had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Darrow defends it easily.

Doremus has his foot on Darrow's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Darrow works his way back into a safe position though.

Darrow controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Darrow sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Doremus's guard.
Doremus flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Doremus is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Darrow pulls his head out easily.

Darrow got a little sloppy there for a moment and Doremus has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Darrow has managed to get both his arms back between Doremus's legs - danger averted.

Doremus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Darrow gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

We've been hearing good reports from Darrow's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Doremus tries to bench press Darrow off him but Darrow keeps the position.
