Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dale Ashley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Monkey King!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King leaves Ashley with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ashley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Ashley scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

King explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
King misses with a kick to the body.
King closes the distance and clinches up with Ashley, looking for a takedown. King pushes Ashley against the cage but Ashley circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
King misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
King shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ashley counters with a head kick.
Dale Ashley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Monkey King.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
King misses with a takedown
and Ashley counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

King tries to land a leg kick but Ashley saw it coming and moves away.

King will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ashley tries to clinch but King is having none of it.

Ashley tests King's chin there with a solid looking shot.
King is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ashley sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

King goes for a double leg but Ashley avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ashley continues to drive forward.

King moves in looking to clinch but Ashley pushes him off.
Sloppy strikes from King. Those never looked like landing.
Monkey King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ashley leaves King with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
King shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ashley but Ashley pushes him off and we're back to square one.

As Ashley backs off King throws a huge counter combo but Ashley manages to avoid it all.

King closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ashley is controlling King's trapped leg to prevent King from advancing to side control.
Ashley flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Ashley keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
King prevents Ashley from improving his position.
King takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ashley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
King sitting and controlling from the half guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
King scores with a crisp jab that stopped Ashley in his tracks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Monkey King dominated that round.
That's time! Ashley's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


King is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
King stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and King wants it to stay on the feet.
King finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
A little feinted left hand from Ashley on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
King with a body punch. A glancing blow.
King throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Ashley throwing a counter right hand but King manages to avoid it.
King moves in looking to clinch but Ashley pushes him off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ashley stuffs the takedown attempt from King. King gets slowly back to his feet.
King misses with a body kick.
Ashley quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

King drives through and clinches with Ashley against the cage.
King fails to pull guard.

Ashley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Ashley fakes a jab and throws a low kick but King checks it well.
King is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Ashley gets tackled into the cage by King. King maintains the clinch.
Ashley stalls.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

King fails to pull guard.
Dale Ashley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Monkey King.
King jumps guard but Ashley stands there with King around his waist. King gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
The referee calls for Ashley to work.
Ashley is looking for a takedown up against the cage. King gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Ashley has King pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. King manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

King pulls Ashley into guard.

King has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
King trying to keep a closed guard but Ashley is proving a slippery customer.

King looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Ashley has picked King up and slammed him! King can't keep hold of the triangle and Ashley manages to pass to side control!

Ashley is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, King has escaped the position, nice work there.

Ashley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
King is looking for a sweep.
King seems a little lost for a moment, as Ashley dominates the positioning.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
King gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
King gets back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Monkey King showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


King misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

King really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ashley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
King pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ashley tried to counter with a leg kick but King avoided it.
King looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ashley is fending him off so far but King persists. Nope, Ashley circles away and we're back to standing.
Dale Ashley is winning the standup battle so far.
King takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Ashley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but King swivels and escapes.
King fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
King motions for Ashley to come forward. King throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Ashley dodges the punch combination from King.
King shoots in looking for a takedown. Ashley tries to sprawl out of it but King keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ashley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ashley shoots for a double leg takedown but King sprawls well. He's pushed Ashley's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
King chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ashley can pounce on him.

King closes the distance and pushes Ashley back into the cage.
Ashley drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dale Ashley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
King is looking to take this one to the mat.

Ashley wants to take a breather but King is having none of it.

Ashley gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Dale Ashley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Monkey King is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Monkey King comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well King has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
