Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cristen Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cristen Shaw will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mickey Edwards!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Cristen Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwards closes this distance looking for a takedown but Shaw circles away.
Edwards fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Shaw throws a counter combo.

Edwards darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Shaw is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shaw escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Edwards gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Shaw is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Edwards is aware though and is defending well.

Edwards drops back looking for a leg! Shaw is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Shaw manages to kick Edwards off! Edwards jumps back into Shaw's guard.

Shaw has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Edwards can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Edwards might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Shaw is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Edwards defends well.
Edwards seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Shaw has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Edwards can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Edwards working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Edwards is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shaw is just riding it out for now. Edwards eventually gives up the hold.

Edwards feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Shaw isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Edwards stacks Shaw on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Edwards!

Shaw is looking to get back to his feet here but Edwards is keeping cool and he's managed to take Shaw's back.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Edwards's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

I really don't envy Shaw right now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Edwards takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Shaw is looking for a sweep. Edwards is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Edwards, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
