The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffinsky throws a combination that misses
and Smaxsons counters with a nice body shot.
Griffinsky works Smaxsons's body with a nice hook.
Smaxsons connects with a body shot that sends Griffinsky's belly button to the back.
Griffinsky throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Smaxsons counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Christoph Griffinsky has been cut.
Griffinsky will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Smaxsons misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Griffinsky.
A decent looking cross lands there for Smaxsons.
Griffinsky misses with a double jab.
Smaxsons connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Griffinsky momentarily.
Griffinsky is rocked!
Griffinsky throws a left and a right that both miss
and Smaxsons counters by moving into the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smaxsons dips a shoulder and cracks Griffinsky with a mighty uppercut! Griffinsky falls back against the cage and Smaxsons unloads with a barrage of strikes! Griffinsky is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Smaxsons screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Clinton Smaxsons!
Post fight, an emotional Clinton Smaxsons said 'I had my very first fight in this company and since then I've been knocking out my opponents time after time. I'm putting DFC Las Vegas on notice. It is my time for that belt. So shine it up real nice and prepare to give it to it's rightful owner!'.
