Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matiku Kong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matiku Kong!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Parker as Kong shoots in.
Parker wants to clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kong is defended easily by Parker.
Parker fires out a quick counter leg kick but Kong just manages to avoid it.
Parker goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Parker scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kong doesn't seem bothered though.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kong enables Parker to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kong manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Kong wants to stand up but Parker is controlling him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Parker throws a strike but Kong rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Parker controls Kong momentarily but Kong frees himself.

Kong is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Kong looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Kong advances position into side control!
I've been told that Kong has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game.

Parker is not content to let Kong control the position.
Parker wants to control but Kong postures up.

Kong is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Parker knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Parker tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Kong is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Parker looks calm but he's in trouble here. Kong gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Parker is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Kong lets go of the hold and Parker can pop his arm back in it's socket.
