PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Davi Sousa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rafael Da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sousa kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is "Ratamahatta" By Sepultura . Rafael Da Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Da Silva!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sousa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Da Silva throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Sousa shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Da Silva manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Da Silva had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sousa defends it easily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Da Silva manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Da Silva has Sousa pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sousa manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Da Silva is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Sousa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Da Silva bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Sousa! He dives into his guard looking to finish!

Sousa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Da Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sousa tries to avoid it but Da Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sousa to the ground. Sousa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Da Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sousa swivels and escapes.
Sousa appears to be looking for a big counter.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Da Silva leaves Sousa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Da Silva fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Da Silva just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromSousa.

Da Silva cracks Sousa with an uppercut from hell and Sousa crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Da Silva's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Da Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sousa's waist but Sousa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Da Silva off to one side.

Horrible takedown attempt by Da Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Sousa, which made it look bad.

That was a close second round but I would say that Davi Sousa will probably get the nod.
